Animation Evaluation

This is my e-sting (E4 idents stop motion animation media text) which I produced.

Drag Race

Constants
As I am aware of the legal issues for Ofcom and the regulator, there isn't any brand or another copy right issue in the scene. There is one, which is E4's logo but on the guideline of the E4 competition we are allowed to used it. However the difficulty is on the filming which is using a human as a controlling Muppet, as they are always moving over the limit of the action and also do not always do what you exactly want. Even though there is a way, which is setting them up picture by picture but it will take too much time and wouldn't meet the deadline. Time available of the actor is also a big issue for the live action animation as we have to wait for the persons availability to film, which can be a waste of time.
Location in this scene is in college but during lesson time so there are not many students or staff using the path way, however unluckily during the filming time there is a person visiting the college and I had to wait for them to leave the path way which wasted time.

Management
At first I decided to use the idea of a guy wearing a suit, creepily following a girl but the scene is set at night and it's to dark to see the action even though I used DSLR camera and put The ISO on 6400. So instantly I quickly came up with another idea but completely forget about the unbelievable animation part and had to re-film again. Then I thought of the most simple idea which could be a great subject and I have 3 days left including that day. So I went out and filmed during lesson and finished it later that day.  I didn't stick to the original ideas which I did the research on because of this issue but on the final ideas I've strictly stuck with the story board and the process of the stop motion animation.
despite the issue and mistake in the process during filming, the project management was poor but my time management and planning for each scene worked well and I was still able to finish 2 days before the deadline.

Feedback
After the deadline, we watched the film and received/gave feedback to each other on both positive and negative. On the feedback I received, most of the students and teachers liked the fact that the audio and action worked well together, with black and white but leaving the original colour of E4's logo and the creativity of easy subject. On the negative side the frame is shaking while tracking and it's not so smooth. However most people like the ideas of "drag race" and the way the E4 logo is presented at the at the end of the scene.

What have I learnt from this project.
As my project is on life action animation; I have learnt that the way to control people as objects can get frustrating as they won't able to understand you 100% .  Also, to come up with good ideas for life action animation of the impossible live movement and fit in 10 seconds, is not an easy thing to do even you plan it well. The rules and brief on the projects can cut down your creativeness; on this one it has to be 10 seconds exactly and it must have the E4 logo shown within that 10 seconds. This means the ideas have to fit in 10 seconds. There isn't time to make full sense in the scene to fit in the ideas.

 Would I taking animation further
To be truthful I've never been interested of working in animation as a career and now I've done some more of animation work including full production, paper work, editing, sound and filming, I've confirm that I'll never work for this industry. Animation as an industry isn't suitable for me at all as you have to be very patient for each movement which is not how I like to work.
